Nigel Smith joins Scanstrut.

(Exeter, Devon, 7^th Jan 2022.) Nigel Smith joins the Scanstrut team as Design Director in a newly created role.

Smith joins from Lewmar Ltd where he held the role of Head of Design for over 10 years and was a key part of the Senior Leadership Team.

Smith commented on his new role “Scanstrut has always presented themselves in a highly professional manner with a strong customer focus. They have been on my ‘watch-list’ for many years. They consistently design, manufacture, and deliver innovative products, beautifully presented and backed-up by an agile, young, and dynamic team, I’m very excited to see what we can achieve together”.

An MA in Industrial Design Engineering led Smith to cutting his teeth with leading design consultancies, London Associates and Seymour Powell. Then taking the opportunity to move into the recreational marine industry and working for the leading innovative design and manufacturing companies, Spinlock and Lewmar.

During his extensive 30-year career working as a leading designer, Smith is renowned for bringing numerous innovative products to market with many gaining patents and prestigious design awards, such as a British Design Award, a variety of DAME Category wins, and numerous Pittman Innovation Awards.
